The star has handed over the entirety of his twenty-five thousand pound honor cash to the MVT, which functions to protect the Britain's independent music venues.

He was given the cheque on October 16 as his third album People Watching was named the outstanding release of the past year.

He has opted to donate the funds to the Music Venues Trust, in recognition of the essential function small stages played in his beginning days.

"I would not have achieved this success if it weren't for all the shows I performed around the area, and further afield, when I was just getting going," remarked Sam Fender. "These locations are iconic, but they are in difficulty."

Since the start of 2023, more than 150 of these spaces have ceased operations – approximately one-sixth of the whole industry in the UK.

In the last year, top acts like the band Pulp, the group Coldplay, Katy Perry and Sheeran have all supported the Music Venues Trust in its attempts to help venues survive, by adding a small levy to their ticket prices, which benefits smaller concert halls.

He also took part, raising in excess of £100,000 on his recent tour to support thirty-eight grassroots venues across England, Scotland, and Wales.

These funds supported locations that were dealing with possible closure due to difficulties arising from flooding, blazes and personal losses, as well as licensing issues, conflicts and sound issues.

Some locations received monetary aid in improving infrastructure and sound and lighting systems that positively impacted artists and audiences.

"The idea that funds from shows in big venues backs the smaller venues, where it begins for musicians like me, is just common sense," Fender has said.

He is among several artists to contribute his honor funds to good deeds.

Back when Pulp earned the award in 1996 for their record Different Class, frontman Jarvis Cocker stated that the act would contribute their winnings to the charity War Child.

During 2002, rapper and singer the artist split her prize among multiple charities, like the children's charity and a Sickle Cell organization.

"Additionally, I contributed a thousand pounds to my local community centre, to their classes, because I trained in gymnastics when I was growing up and they required better apparatus," Ms Dynamite shared with outlets.

Two years ago, they donated their prize money to the youth organization that nurtured their band, as well as other local music groups.

Additionally 1994 winners M People contributed their winnings to a MS organization after a close contact was found to have the disease.

"Receiving the award was quite enough," stated singer Small. "The cash was the extra but we could do without the extra, because we had the main prize. So our victory affected another person's life."

In the past week, the trust announced it had rescued two local spots in south-east England, by bringing them into local control.

The Joiners in that area and the other in that location were bought under the Own Our Venues initiative, which is funded by a national body and music fans who buy "ownership units" in the venues.
